steak and kidney meat pudding....... beefsteak cubed with kidney, wrapped in a suet dough with gravy and placed in a pudiing and boiled in a cloth tied at the top for 2-3 hours depending on size (be sure to top up the boiling water) .when done, undo the cloth and slice the pudding.
add english mustard (not that french crap) salt, pepper, and a dash of worcester sauce.
serve with new potatoes and mushy peas.
mmm steak & kidney pies...yorkshire puds....stovers.....beans on toast....fish & chips....mince & tatties...mmmm

he says when he was young it was about trading valentines (cards); not about gifts.
halloween is a major holiday, but not a day off.
Maybe that is why the JWs just renounce all holidays except for the Memorial, Thanksgiving, and Superbowl Sunday. It's easier to understand what's expected when you just have a few.
The reasons they renounce such things are why you are here today. It's good to know that you can celebrate whatever you want, that you have that choice!! You may not agree with the commercialism of Christmas or Easter, but hey, you can choose to celebrate it or not! I personally am fed up with rushing at Christmas each year, but I couldn't imagine being told I could not celebrate it. Birthdays are for my kids, I enjoy watching others when they receive gifts from me. Again, it's a matter of choice and aren't you glad you have one and can celebrate whatever you want the way you want??

i think she is very talented and a true artist.
It was pretty clear during the JLo/Marc Anthony thing who had the better handle on the spanish language. It was also pretty clear who could sing & who couldn't. Never thought she could. I enjoyed the opening act the best. I missed Melissa Etheridge (Desperate Housewives was on hey!!) but I do enjoy her music. I heard she did wonderful...and she's got the Janis Joplin down!

I wouldn't consider Valentine's day or Halloween a "holiday" per se...but it's fun to get stuff none the less. This year I got flowers from a friend of mine and I sent her flowers as her beau was out of town & not likely to remember. I think it's nice to get something, a card, flowers even a bit of chocolate just so you know someone is thinking of you. Of course, it's good to get them all throughout the year as well.
I'd consider the major ones Christmas, Easter & Thanksgiving....the rest are minor IMO...oh and birthdays, they are always major, but mostly for the kids!! I'm not inclined to celebrate those for me much these days!

I would think that he would have said something the first time around if that was more than "no big deal" Especially if he had nothing to gain from it.

I'm glad to hear the baby wasn't thrown out a window, at least his "mother" had the decency not to chuck him in a dumpster or leave him somewhere to starve. I will go home & kiss my kids tonite. I couldn't imagine not wanting my child to that degree.
hello it's been a long time since i was here just needed some input please from all loving parents...would you rather your daughter be:
1. married to a guy who's not really that great (history of having lotsa women, irresponsible) but seems to love/like your daughter.
2. be gay (with woman who is quite good, responsible and everything but - a woman...).
I must concur with everyone else....I want my daughter to be happy, really happy and for that to happen, she has to find her way in life. My job is to support her at all costs and love her no matter what.
True, some decisions she will inevitably make will disappoint me, but I'll love her none the less!

Every Tuesday of every week I get my visit from my two favorite witnesses and neither one of them try to witness to me, I must be beyond hope.
BUT, I've also never been called on by any others, and my mother has (we live a block apart), in fact, they know her by name, she chats with them all the time. What a waste for them, either that or they enjoy someone who will listen. My mother is so NOT going to convert, she just wants to learn about them. She's very nice to them....my dad just laughs. They know my situation well!
